Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1324 was chartered in 1925 in Oregon City, Oregon and has been at the current location since 1949 when we built and dedicated the Clackamas County Veterans Memorial Building. We are a VFW Post with active members who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, The Persian Gulf, and Afghanistan. We are involved in our community from West Linn and Gladstone to Clackamas and Happy Valley, and of course Oregon City. We are a family friendly Post hosting Pie and Coffee each Friday night from 5-8PM. Our building is also available for rentals for birthday parties, weddings, memorial services and other group events.
Our Post has several public events annually including a flag retirement on May 1st, Open Houses on Memorial Day and Veterans Day and POW/MIA service of remembrance on the third Friday evening in September. Each year, with our Auxiliary, we award scholarships through the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen VFW programs and host an annual holiday party in December with food and fun for all.
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group. Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace
